WHO WE ARE

Soaring peaks and mountain ranges with unique, spectacular views make Val di Fassa one of the most attractive summer and winter tourist destinations in the entire Alps. True to Ladin traditions (very much present to this day in the local language, folklore and cuisine) and a culture whereby the values of hospitality and a warm reception are strongly felt, the Val di Fassa is a unique, unforgettable holiday destination.

The Val di Fassa is situated in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, in the heart of the Dolomites, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2009. It nestles among natural wonders, such as Catinaccio Rosengarten, the Marmolada, the Sella Group and the Saslonch, all of which were created when a coral reef rose from the prehistoric sea 250 million years ago.

Val di Fassa Lift is a promotion and communication project that intends to provide guests, residents and enthusiasts with detailed information about the innovations and initiatives organised in the Val di Fassa hiking and skiing area.

Thanks to valuable help from several long-standing lift system enterprises in the valley: Società Incremento Turistico Canazei, Pordoi Impianti a Fune, Funivia Ciampac e Contrin, Funivie Buffaure and Catinaccio Impianti a Fune, visitors to Val di Fassa can now access a more comprehensive source of information covering both the winter and summer seasons.

Winter in Val di Fassa

The Val di Fassa ski area, through which the now well-known Panorama Skitour runs, has absolutely everything it needs to be considered one of the highest quality winter destinations. With 52 slopes covering over 70 km and no fewer than 39 ski lifts, it's sure to become an absolute must for winter sports lovers in the coming years.

The skiing offer will become increasingly comprehensive from the 2015/2016 winter season onwards thanks to the new Alba - Col dei Rossi Funifor ropeway that connects the Pordoi - Belvedere-Col Rodella and Ciampac-Buffaure ski areas with each other. This will create a new ski circuit in Val di Fassa, starting from the Saslonch Group and reaching the Catinaccio Rosengarten range, passing through the most spectacular scenery in the Dolomites. With the best slopes, family ski schools, snow parks and thrilling ski descents all the way down to the valley where Italy's national skiing champions actually train, you're sure to have a great time!

Summer in Val di Fassa

And after you've put away your ski boots and gloves, the Dolomites become the finest natural gym, where you can relieve the stress of daily life and tone up your body by trekking, climbing, free climbing and paragliding. There's no end to the routes you can explore in summer, both in the valley and at high altitude. Whether you're on foot or on a mountain bike, expert Alpine guides will conduct you in safety on via ferrata excursions or you can experience the thrill of climbing.

Visitors in search of more breathtaking excitement can experience tandem paragliding with the instructors, champions of this fascinating activity. Nothing is left to chance when it comes to high-altitude family fun. The proposals include discovering the secrets of nature, the world of geology, the animals that inhabit the mountains and the culinary traditions of our ancestors.
